Recently we learned that funding for our statewide Alcohol/Drug Clearinghouse has been reduced significantly for the next two years. Because of state revenue shortfalls, our primary funder, the state Department of Social and Health Services – Division of Alcohol and Substance Abuse (DASA), was not able to maintain our budget at current level. As a result, we will begin operating a more cost-effective and efficient warehouse and Resource Center by making the following changes, beginning July 1, 2009: -Materials Clearinghouse materials will continue to be free; however, we will need to charge for shipping costs for ALL orders. The Clearinghouse will continue to accept online and phone orders. We accept cash, check, or credit card (through the PayPal service). Due to staff reductions, it will take 10 to 15 working days to mail orders once payment has been received.
The Clearinghouse will be working towards providing most prevention materials as a downloadable PDF file or direct link on their website, and updating their online catalog and video lending library. Clearinghouse staff will be available Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and the Resource Center will be open to the public Tuesday-Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Orders may be picked up during these times to avoid shipping costs. During these hard economic times, we will continue to do our best to provide you with the tools and materials you use every day in your community. |
